Express: UPS and FedEx round every fractional dimension UP to the next whole inch (since 18 Aug 2025); USPS adopted the same round-up on 12 July 2026. The metric-market rule for express is not published in a form we could retrieve from the carriers directly, so treat centimetre round-up outside the US as convention rather than as a cited rule. Air cargo (IATA) is the exception: each dimension rounds to the NEAREST whole unit, half or more up and less than half down, in centimetres and inches alike, and only the resulting weight rounds up. Source: IATA European Air Cargo Programme Handbook ed. 23 p.32, restating TCC Resolution 502 / TACT: if a shipment measures 162.2 x 155.6 x 141.4 cms, the measurements become 162 x 156 x 141. The two roundings sit in one paragraph and run in opposite directions, which makes them easy to confuse; our own engine had the air rule backwards until 2026-08-21.",
